What in the World?

Okay, I've tried twice to post a blog about my coming trip to Brazil. I'm so ticked right now b/c each time I try to do it, something dumb happens and it won't post, or it deletes itself, or something. I know this message is important, and Satan is having field day trying to stop it!I decided today that I'm going back to Brazil this summer. Despite my fear of flying, my fear of loosing one of my high schoolers, and my fear of not being let back into the US upon our return, I've decided to go. I want to stay longer than the 10 day trip though. I would really like to spend extra time helping at the Holy Trinity Institute near Gramado where my little Josue is. That is what you see for the first part of the video. My friend and travel partner last summer, Michelle, sent a video to me last week. Some pastors went and visited the places we took the kids last summer, and it was great to see those places again, and see what God has been doing there. Pastor Claudio is featured several times, and is moving forward with his building plans. I've included the link below. Check out the video. I love for my friends to know and see the things I'm passionate about.http://video.fotki.com/kenmits

God's Hands

I was choosing pictures to post today, and came across one taken this summer in Brazil. I first met Josue when the mission group I was travelling with stopped at an orphanage in Gramado. On a bench sat this sweet young boy, and so I decided to sit down next to him, or rather, on him. He scooted away, which only made me scoot closer. We continued this for several minutes until he realized I was joking around. Then he scooted back towards me, and spent the next hour at my side. He showed me the different parts of the orphanage, holding my hand, and leading me around. I met his younger brother, Jefferson, and saw where he eats, sleeps, and plays. What an amazing place this orphanage is! These children are well-provided for, loved by their caregivers, and taught about God's great love for them. I knew that God had crossed my path with Josue's, and as I felt that tug on my heart, I knew that I wanted to be part of Josue's "family". I agreed to sponsor him with a monthly donation, and I am able to write to him whenever I want! I am so blessed to have this opportunity to love a child I've met only once, yet is forever part of who I am now.
